How do you think about yourself? What crosses your mind when you look at yourself in the mirror? How confident in your skin are you around others? Do you try to hide everything about you? Do you love yourself? Here is what I have to say to you…”Stop! Stop stop stop!” You are beautiful and so many people think so. Look at yourself in the mirror and pick out the good things, not the bad things. Look at yourself and say, “I have beautiful hair,” “I have a cute little nose,” “I love my freckles.”
If you have ever had anyone tell you that you weren’t pretty, take that comment, lay it on the ground, find a shovel, dig a very deep hole, throw that comment in the hole, cover the hole back up, and walk away. Because they are just jealous of you. Always remember that. They are jealous of something that you were gifted and blessed with. But no matter how beautiful you are on the outside, that makes no difference if your heart isn’t beautiful. (Go check out that blog post about “beautiful heart”)
You should never compare yourself or judge yourself against others. There is a quote that says, “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” That is a very inspirational quote. You have to love yourself. Not in a conceded or selfish way, but in a confident and humble way. I am about to bless you with scripture to remind you of how beautiful you are. Are you ready? Your heart is about to be full.
- “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” - Song of Solomon 4:7.
- “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” - Psalm 139:13-15
- “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10
- “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7
Don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t beautiful. Don’t tell yourself that you are not beautiful. God made you because He knew the world needed you. He knew that you needed to be in someone’s life. You are loved, you are precious, and you are beautiful. Take that statement and permanently plant it in your mind. You are loved, you are precious, you are beautiful.
