Pit, Not Pedestal

Writer: strengthintheunquastrengthintheunqua

Today I have been completely humbled by how God has been working in my life. He has taken all of my weaknesses, all of my mistakes, and all of gifts for His glory. He has completely changed my life and used it for His glory. My entire life I have spent my life trying to make my spiritual life showy and what everyone else wanted. When I made the choice to have a genuine religion that is when my life started to change.

God continue to reveal more of Himself to me and opened doors. See God is so good like that, He takes us after we take one step of obedience and He changes everything for His glory, providing us with complete peace, comfort, and joy. God used Gideon when no one else would. He used him to defeat a army of 300,000 with only 300 men. God used Joseph from inside a prison cell. Joseph became second in command after being sold into slavery, falsely accused and put into jail. He used Daniel in a lion’s den. He shut the mouths of lions and saved the king. God has a pattern of showing up in the most unusual and unlikely ways.

He takes our failures, our weaknesses, our mistakes, and our shortcomings to prove His power and bringing glory to His name. I’ll speak from personal experience choosing to do everything for His glory really does change everything in your life. Don’t let you failures, mistakes, brokenness, and weaknesses take you out. Choose Jesus to redeem you and let Him use you. It is so so so worth it.

I found this quote by John Acuff and wanted to close with this:

“God found Gideon in a hole.

He found Joseph in Prison

He found Daniel in a lion’s den.

He has a curious habit of showing up

In the midst of trouble, not the absense.

Where the world sees failure, God sees

Future.

Next time you feel unqualified to be

used by God remember this, He tends

to recruit from the pit, not the pedestal.”
